InflammaDry
What is InflammaDry?
InflammaDry is a point-of-care test that uses a monoclonal antibody to detect elevated levels of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in tears, a biomarker of ocular inflammation. The test is noninvasive, easy to perform, and provides results within minutes, making it an invaluable tool for veterinary ophthalmologists.
Clinical applications
This is an essential tool for the diagnosis and treatment of ocular inflammation in dogs.
- Rapid and accurate detection: Identifies elevated levels of MMP-9, a key marker of inflammation, in minutes.
- High sensitivity and specificity: Provides confidence in diagnoses.
- Versatility: Useful for diagnosing various inflammatory eye conditions, such as keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye).
- Benefits for your practice: Greater diagnostic accuracy, more effective treatments and more satisfied clients.

Product benefits
Pre-surgical measurements are more accurate and post-surgical outcomes are improved by identifying and treating patients with dry eye.
Such as corneal wound healing, by identifying dry eye before surgery.
Therapeutic treatment of dry eye improves the patient’s quality of life.
Test for inflammatory dry eye
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are proteolytic enzymes produced by stressed epithelial cells on the ocular surface. MMP-9 is a non-specific marker of inflammatory activity.
Normal values are between 3-41 ng/ml. Ocular surface pathologies such as Dry Eye Disease show elevated levels of MMP-9 in tears. The Inflammadry test identifies elevated levels of MMP-9 in tears.
